As reported on the Penge & Cator Councillors’ Blog:

The Alexandra Public House planning application was given Permission at last night’s planning committee paving the way for the Public House to open again.
The application includes 12 housing units above the public house.
The parking issues have been reviewed for a second time, as not all residents were happy with the addition of 12 units without adequate parking spaces. However, officers have deemed the proposal acceptable.
We look forward to welcoming our new public house – hopefully Late Knights Brewery.

Thanks to Councillor Fookes for the update:

Dear Resident,

Just to let you know that the above application will be going to committee on Thursday [2nd April 2015] evening to a meeting of Plans 2 sub committee at 7-00pm at Bromley Civic Centre. Officers are recommending permission. Kevin Brooks will be representing us at the meeting.

You can view the application by clicking on this link.

Many thanks to Steve, Victor Road for making this available to all of us!

The Architectural Handbook and Conservation Guide, which was written by Neil Coe a few years ago, is now available in digital format.

It contains a wealth of information on the history of the estate and the architectural features of the cottages, which is most useful when planning alterations.

It is divided in 3 rather large files, so please be patient when downloading them!

It is kindly requested that the historic photographs and maps are not reproduced, and please note that the book was written many years ago and some the conservation concerns have lessened, with the Article 4 protection and changing attitudes leading to more recent enhancements in conservation and to the appearance of the estate.
